In line with its long-term target of sustained dividends in the range of 20% of net income, Harris Corp.(HRS) Monday boosted its common payout for the seventh consecutive year. The Melbourne, Fla., international provider of communications and information technology set a new quarterly of 20 cents a share, up 33% from 15 cents. Disbursement is scheduled for Sept. 17 to investors of record Sept. 4. The stock goes ex-dividend Sept. 2. Harris, which has annual revenues of $5.3 billion, has paid dividends continually since 1941.

After hiking its quarterly common dividend 18% in March -- marking 22 years in a row of annual enhancements -- Raven Industries (RAVN) Tuesday declared a special one-time payout of $1.25 a share, or $22.5 million, along with its regular quarterly. That helped push the South Dakota company's stock through its 52-week high of 44.62, set last October on Nasdaq. Yield: 1.15%. The 13-cent quarterly is payable Oct. 15 to holders of record Sept. 25, while distribution of the bonus will take place Nov. 14 to stockholders of record Oct. 24. The respective ex-dates are Sept. 23 and Oct. 22.

Joy Global (JOYG) mining-equipment producer, enriched its quarterly 17% Monday, to 17.5 cents a share from 15 cents. Since Barron's foreign editor Vito J. Racanelli wrote favorably about Joy in April 2007 the stock has gone from 47 to a peak of 90. It traded recently around 72.
