#1 Security Industry Play in China. China's version of ADT video and alarm installation company. Rapid growth, monthly recurring revenue, strong contracting presense, demand need concurrent with growth and increasing population. China operations director of Honeywell moved to CSCT and should provide some experienced adult supervision for the rapid growth. Forward PE impressive and worth noting. Because of the tight relationships of this company with the government, see no reason why this company should not continue to dominate the commercial and security markets in China. Interesting note, one of CSCTs subsidaries reports that they renewed an agreement with US based YUM brands to outfit their China locations -- growing at one store per day. This stock is likely to get much more attention -- note recent strong purchases of 50k blocks of stock in single purchase at the $26 level (10/05/07).

#1 Copper play (has bonus of some gold also). Freeport-McMoran Copper and Gold. This stock has the advantage of being a hedged gold play, and a copper play. As an economist, with the surplus of gold in the world, betting on gold scarcity as a stockpile of value is a fools game -- may as well bet on tulip bulbs. However, Copper tends to ride with gold on the upside, and has the added advantage of being a scarce commondity with only a few weeks of copper available for industrial use at any given time. Therefore, scarcity rules apply to copper, and in a hot economy of increasing global industrial demand by China, India, and others, copper as a commodiity a increasingly valuable commodity. There premier play in copper is FCX. This is a volatile stock, with huge swings possible, so I tend to buy on forecasted news of any market overheating and suggestions of demand; also buy on suggestion of inflation. However, be prepared to stop losses and protect profits at any hint of slowing in the global economy that would break the scarcity relationship of copper used for industrial use.
