SAC Capital Partners is a $12 billion dollar group of hedge funds founded by Steven A. Cohen in 1992. While SAC closely guards its returns, published reports and people who have seen the fund's letters to its investors say that SAC had a gross return, before its fees, of at least 40 percent in every year since inception, making it astoundingly successful. While most hedge funds charge a fee of 20% to 30% percent of the annual returns, SAC keeps 50% percent.
According to Traders Monthly magazine, "Stevie" Cohen, was the second-highest paid hedge fund manager in the U.S in 2005, personally earning in excess of $1 billion.
Cohen is regarded by many as the best stock trader ever. His fund contains approximately $3bb of his own money. While he is known primarily as a short-term trader, in recent years he's been taking longer-term positions. Here are some of his main holdings.
