Retirement and "fun money".

-
AAPL
Apple Inc. - $201.46
- +3.66%
- $196.95
THE company that gets people excited and looking at what they will do. New products will further fuel growth. The iPhone or whatever they will end up calling it will still be called the iPhone regardless of Cisco owning the rights. The iPhone look and technology will be transferred to new generation of iPods and that will generate eventual replacement of 70 million current iPods. Apple TV is the sleeper and will eventually transform home entertainment as iTunes movie downloads and quality grow. Look someday to a downloadable movie from Blockbuster through iTunes to Apple TV to your living room.

MO
Altria Group Inc - $18.87
- +1.78%
- $18.83
Legal issues leaning their way. Still bringing in cash. Foreigners still puffing away and want to be Marlboro men. Who am I not to make money on their stupid choice. They know the risks. Company will split and just get better.

-
DLB
Dolby Laboratorie - $42.70
- +2.01%
- $41.99
Dolby is music, theaters, home entertainment.

-
LVLT
Level 3 Communica - $1.23
- -1.60%
- $1.23
Level 3 scared me but Cramer finally made me a believer and company is vastly improving its balance sheet. Best thing is others are jumping on the bandwagon.

-
NYX
Nyse Euronext - $27.80
- +3.46%
- $27.25
Big, getting bigger and will eventually be in Asia and will be THE worldwide marketplace 24 hours a day. I can't begin to imagine where this stock will be in 10 years. This will help pay for both my kid's retirement.

-
MKL
Markel Cp Hldg Co - $329.93
- +0.77%
- $330.00
Just a solid and boring 15-20% year after year. Yawwwwn. No excitement but it makes money.

-
OMTR
Omniture - $21.52
- 0.00%
- $N/A
Advertising has been steadily and increasingly putting their dollars on the web instead of print media and advertisers want to know if it is being effectively spent and Omniture helps monitor and report the traffic. Will only get better.

-
RAD
Rite Aid Cp - $1.38
- +2.22%
- $1.35
Poor and corrupt upper mangagement 10 years ago still haunts this company (anybody want to buy Enron?) and it is finally getting out from that giant shadow. New managemant team is rock solid and gaining a solid reputation. Eckerd acquisition is a huge plus. Shutting the losers, inventories under control. Coming from a huge low, just achieving the ability to encourage investors to look at it in the same and untarnished light as their competitors will drive it to higher levels to reasonably compete with its peers.
