The goal of this portfolio is not necessarily to find the best stocks for the next century but the ones that can either snapback this week because of an irrational selloff last week, or they have some other potential catalyst that can create explosive potential during the coming week.

CC
Circuit City Strs - $0.31
- -6.12%
- $0.35
This leads me to my first pick which is Circuit City (CC)—On Thursday Circuit City got killed after they reported steeper-than expected losses. The company swung a loss of $62.8M on $2.64 Billion which was substainlly lower then the 12 cent loss the street was looking for. Setting up for the perfect snapback rally. Intrinsically Circuit City has value to someone ideally another retailer. With some 650 stores nation-wide and revenue of $2.64 Billion even the slightest improvement in actually earnings and profit could send this stock back into the mid-teens. While, I am sure they losing out to companies like Best Buy and Costco’s new and improved electronic section, Circuit City’s overall revenue shows some light at the end of the tunnel. CC is poised for a snapback rally in the coming week.

ETFC
E*trade Finl Corp - $2.28
- -0.44%
- $2.18
Another name that is on this weeks list is E Trade Financial, In a recent video I did with Jim Cramer in which Jim praised E Trades CEO Mitch Caplan and “Your money is safe with E Trade” and he also said “I want to buy E Trade so bad!” but why does Jim feel like this? Down 40% YTD E Trade has been killed primarily due to their back mortgage exposure; but what lender has not gotten hurt? Fortunately, in our case the market has over-reacted as E Trade is still primarily a discount online broker and not just a “Sub-prime lender” With $1.6BB in total cash and $500MM in operating cash E Trade is poised for a snapback rally, with great fundamentals, a great CEO and potential growth E Trade could easily rally back into the 20’s

DSL
Downey Financial - $1.87
- -7.88%
- $2.01
Stocks that have HUGE short positions have always intrigued me. In general I think shorting stocks is a horrible way to make money (markets trend up—so why fight it?)—Downey Financial (DSL) has a short position of 78.12%-- It possible to recommend DSL simply because of the short position (it’s so massive and some many people are betting against it that taking the opposite side of the trade could pay off massively with little risk)--There are major concerns with Downey’s market and how these lenders will do. Being based in CA has also hurt, as CA has been hit hardest by the real-estate down turn. Any up tick in the market (which many will argue is going to happen because of the FED Cut) will spark a massive rally in DSL.

-
AUY
Yamana Gold Inc - $3.97
- -15.89%
- $4.50
With gold over $72o an oz. AUY is a great spec. on the gold rally. With a market cap of $4BB AUY could also be a take-over target as well.

-
NYX
Nyse Euronext - $28.75
- -9.08%
- $30.42
Nest up is NYSE Euronext (NYX), which is by far the most talked-about stock on the answers section in Stockpickr.com This stock has acted like a total dog to almost everyone who knows it leaving investors dazed about its next move; up or down. While, it is quite clear that overall trading volume at the NYSE is up due to the recent volatility NYX has not bugged. Mega hedge fund Atticus Capital continues to average down in what is now their second largest holding. From a recent filing they reported own almost 15MM shares of NYX up substantial from there last filing. If NYX does not shape up look for Atticus to set in and make some deals happen.

-
AAPL
Apple Inc - $96.87
- +5.88%
- $97.27
A little unheard of product is coming out on Friday called the iTouch. I have a feeling its going to be BIG—Also, rumors are that APPL sold an additional 400,000 Mac Pro books; netting the company an additional $600MM in revenue. Apple has been one of my back to school stocks-- It seems that its paying off.

-
EMC
E M C Cp - $9.98
- +2.99%
- $10.17
9/24/07 8am EST EMC gets upgrades from Citi and Bear Stearns on VMware impact -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been bullish on EMC for sometime now, sporting it both ahead of the VMware IPO and after. It amazes me that EMC is not trading above $20 a share right now. VMware is winning contract after contract and EMC's main storage business has never been better. Clearly the stock has trouble in breaking $20; I am not sure why that is though considering how "right" EMC is right now. With tons of cash and zero subprime debt EMC and high growth tech in general are the place to be (both before and after the FED meeting)—EMC doesn't need lower interest rates, its business is thriving. At the Stockpickr/Realmoney party last week everyone was in shock on how undervalued EMC still is. EMC is now Lone Pine Capitals MAIN holding—They own 47,099,337 shares of EMC

ULGX
Urologix Inc - $0.942

- $1.01

The BPH market is large and can be expected to continue to grow due to the general aging of the world's population, as well as increasing life expectancies." This is a very very small cap play near its 52-week low.
