Ramius Capital Group, LLC is an investment management firm that pursues low-volatility absolute returns that are also “non-market-directional” in nature. The firm’s expertise lies in the allocation and management of a diverse series of strategies within various programs that seek to provide net annualized returns of 5 - 10% above the “risk-free” rate of the 91-day U.S. Treasury Bills (or 3 month USD LIBOR) over a complete market cycle, minimal volatility when compared to the historical return pattern of traditional asset classes such as equities and bonds, and low correlation of returns when compared to the historical return pattern of traditional asset classes. The firm’s goal is to provide its investors the benefits of a stable long-term compounding of capital while receiving the highest possible level of client service.
The firm manages approximately $2.0 billion in assets. Portfolios are usually managed with minimal leverage, thereby making specific return targets more dependent on the particular strategies selected as well as the skill of the portfolio manager.
