The Quaker Strategic Growth Fund is managed by Manu Daftary. He has been listed as one of the top 20 money managers by Barron's Magazine for five years in a row. He has also beaten the S&P 500 index for 8 years in a row, putting him behind only Bill Miller for the money manager who has beat the index for the most consecutive years in a row. That streak is coming to an end this year, and Daftary was interviewed in the December 18 2006 issue of Barrons.

In the article he is quoted as saying “If I don’t beat the S&P next year, I’d say it was nice knowing you”

Morningstar gives the fund 4 stars, but it is often chided on its unusually high fees at 5.5% of initial investments and a 1.90% expense ration. That said, the fund still has an excellent track record over the past 10 years, having return an annualized 17.94%.

now. I like the now. I learn from the
past, but you have to look forward in
this game. Why don't you do a press
date search of market times of them 2
tops and try to see what is different or
similar to what we're going through
right now. Techs love this crap. I
like to use both. I don't rely on 1
tool. I rely on several tools. Right
now, we are in a slow down, and the $
was lower 12yrs ago, than it's today.
Tech has brought in so much slack to
make us efficient and productive. Ships
are moving out with our wares. It used
to be they left empty. Our economy is
changing & we must learn to be dynamic.
We all can. We have the basic fundies
to learn, thus we can teach ourselves
new skills.
