QVT Financial LP is a New York-based multi-strategy hedge fund manager with approximately $6 billion in assets under management. Originally a highly successful proprietary trading group at Deutsche Bank, QVT was launched in 2003. The fund invests globally across multiple strategies, including various relative value-driven equity strategies such as risk arbitrage, fundamental relative value, statistical trades and other special situations. Unlike most other funds with comparable capital bases, QVT has elected to employ a small number of highly talented generalists as opposed to a larger number of sector specialists. Members of the core investment team have elite academic backgrounds in fields ranging from physics and computer science to law.
