Polygon Investment Partners LLP is a global private investment firm based in London and New York with over $1.35 billion under management. It is led by Reade Griffith, a Harvard College-trained economics graduate who was previously founder and chief executive of the European office of Citadel Investment Group. Polygon manages a multi-strategy investment fund and invests in a wide range of publicly traded securities. While Polygon enjoys high-profile shareholder battles but, like other hedge funds, keeps a low profile when it comes to other aspects of its business. It is authorized and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Reade Griffith:

From Hedge Fund Intelligence:
“Griffith, former head of Citadel's European operation, outlined six key ingredients to building a sustainable hedge fund business: consistency of returns; depth of talent; risk management and use of leverage; robustness of structure; the liquidity of capital matched to strategy durations; and diversity in the investor base.

He noted several intriguing new business developments, including the disintermediation of banks as companies increasingly started to deal directly with hedge funds in a range of innovative capital-raising areas such as convertibles, private equity, debtor-in-possession deals and mezzanine financing.

Griffith described the outlook for his fund's three key strategies - event-driven arbitrage, convertible arbitrage and capital structure/distressed arbitrage - as positive, improving and fair in that order."

A. Look @ this moment on what's happening
now. I like the now. I learn from the
past, but you have to look forward in
this game. Why don't you do a press
date search of market times of them 2
tops and try to see what is different or
similar to what we're going through
right now. Techs love this crap. I
like to use both. I don't rely on 1
tool. I rely on several tools. Right
now, we are in a slow down, and the $
was lower 12yrs ago, than it's today.
Tech has brought in so much slack to
make us efficient and productive. Ships
are moving out with our wares. It used
to be they left empty. Our economy is
changing & we must learn to be dynamic.
We all can. We have the basic fundies
to learn, thus we can teach ourselves
new skills.
