8 am...Probably not much out of them. On 12/23 they announced VIDAZA ok in europe. T/A it is at support. 12/30 they talked about IRIS Innohep in elderly causing blood clots with full report coming this month. THEY have Qtr Earnings on 1/29/09...Zacks said this about it...Celgene Corp. (NasdaqGS: CELG - News) is a fully integrated biotechnology company focused on discovery, development and commercialization of drugs in the area of cancer and immune/inflammatory diseases. Related Quotes Symbol Price Change CELG 56.49 +1.21 {"s" : "celg","k" : "c10,l10,p20,t10","o" : "","j" : ""} The acquisition of Pharmion brings three medically meaningful products -- Thalomid, Revlimid and Vidaza -- into market, which will drive growth in 2009 and beyond. The myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) market will be dominated by Celgene with complementary Vidaza and Revlimid, although Revlimid and Thalomid face tough competition in the multiple myeloma (MM) market. Also, its strong balance sheet and deep pipeline will provide long-term growth for the company. Our price target is $70.

8 am...Not Sexy..they reported their Study before conf..per Adam F .."Obesity patients treated with a weight-loss pill from Orexigen Therapeutics (OREX - commentary - Cramer's Take) lost an average of 20.3 pounds, or 9.3% of their body weight, over one year, according to results from a phase III study released Thursday. Orexigen said the study of its weight-loss drug Contrave met all its pre-specified efficacy and safety goals. However, patients in the trial who took a sugar pill for one year lost an average of 11 pounds, or 5.1% of their body weight. That puts the placebo-adjusted percentage of body weight lost by Contrave patients at 4.2% -- below the 5% weight-loss standard for approval mandated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for all experimental obesity drugs. " ..They are going to talk about the results of their 1 year Phase 3 Diet Medication Study at the Conference...Looking around the net, I could find one lady who lost 60 pounds that is in the study but she doesn't know if she has a placebo..but she no longer craves food. Interesting note that OREX got into a lease for an increase in Office Space about 3 months ago for next year. They were the darlings at the Obesity Conf last year...Yet, 3 directors left in Dec which spooked the stock...here is the drug (btw they have a second diet drug in Phase 2)..Contrave contains a sustained release formulation of naltrexone which we believe will improve tolerability, enhance patient compliance and improve weight loss outcomes in patients with obesity, a disorder which afflicts more than 75 million Americans," said Gary Tollefson, M.D., Ph.D., Orexigen President and CEO. "The Phase 3 formulation of naltrexone in an oral sustained release form may be a key factor in allowing more patients to achieve the potential benefits associated with greater weight loss."

8 am..Justin Real Money take on it..Idexx Laboratories (IDXX - commentary - Cramer's Take) owns the veterinary lab vertical, including point-of-care diagnostics, instruments, consumables and reference lab services. About 80% of Idexx's revenue is composed of businesses in which Idexx is the market leader, and about 40% of its business is derived internationally. In addition to the vet business, about 7% of its revenue is composed of regulated water testing for municipalities. This business generates nearly 20% of Idexx's earnings before interest and taxes; this is a bulletproof business, in my opinion. After sitting in on the company's presentation and breakout, I covered part of my short position. The company announced that it exhibited organic growth in the December quarter, which is no small feat for a discretionary service, in my opinion. Management believes that vet clinic visits were down in the quarter, which is no surprise given the economic malaise we are experiencing. The company expects free cash flow to equal 80% to 100% of net income in 2009. With EPS estimates at $1.85, that implies a 5% to 6% free cash flow yield at current prices left the meetings less bearish on the stock, though I believe the company will struggle in 2009 and beyond and that veterinary services will prove more discretionary than many expect currently..My notes..yawn, I'm awake..They have Earnings out on 1/30...t/a at support..but keep an eye on it's 15% short interest. This is one James A's favs...looking around it appears nothing new coming at the conference...here is what James A says about it...Stock Pick No. 6: Idexx Laboratories (IDXX Quote - Cramer on IDXX - Stock Picks) has a growing division that detects biological contaminants in water. This is not only a clean-water play but also a terrorism play. Additionally, the company has products that help diagnose illness in animals. So they are good to cats

8 am...I went to this one..here is my notes..Weakest is Cash Instruments...20% of biz but doing ok...but trying to move customers to "lease" cuz of Cap X issues with customers...MOST OF THE OTHER competitors are owned by BIG companies like Abbott, JNJ, Roche....this could be a good M and A...CEO seems to be hot for the idea.Focus of a lot of their stuff is to go for automation to cut the need for lab techs...Chemistry and Immunoassay is using "work cells" to the hospitals...seems like an all in one package...Happy Meals for them..lol. It is really fast growing for them. Developing DXN...working also on a one step amino assess...UniCel DxH system is transforming cellular analysis...Only major player on both Hemo and Flow. goes from one 1 labtech instead of 4. 2010/2011 will have new equip...Samples are moving...2009 Prototypes completed..Clinical trials start this year...Financials....install payments stable 80% of biz...only 20% cash....Old stuff,One to watch...this is a blood/urine testing company...t/a uptrend not at support yet. Short Interest 2.8%. On 12/23 they said UniCel DxH 800 will be on market...it's a system which allows multi testing...also, 12/16 they issued guidence..2008 Outlook The company estimates that, based on current exchange rates, full year 2008 revenue should increase by about 12%. Operating margins are anticipated to be on par with prior year results, between 11.5% and 12%. Non operating expense should be about $48 million. Therefore, earnings per share expectations remain in the $3.55 to $3.65 range, with a tax rate of 26 to 27%. 2009 Preliminary Outlook Full year 2009 revenue is expected to grow approximately 5% on a constant currency basis, driven by a continued steady trend in recurring revenue growth. Recurring revenue, which accounts for nearly 80% of total revenue, is anticipated to continue to grow approximately 7% in constant currency. Cash instrument sales should be flat to slightly down against unusually high sales levels in 2008. The company has implemented a zero overhead growth policy to control expenses. The shift in mix toward higher margin recurring revenue and a conservative approach toward spending should allow the company to achieve its 2009 earnings per share growth objective of 10%. The tax rate should be comparable to 2008

8:30 am...t/a they are getting their 50 day MA as support..but only have a .5% short interest. They report earnings on 2/12 and really blew up after they missed big last qtr...this seems to be the only new stuff that they will probably talk about...but they already released it a couple of weeks ago...from PR..HUENENBERG, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alcon, Inc. (NYSE: ACL - News), the world’s leader in eye care and cataract surgery announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved its +3.0 diopter add power AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL. This new lens, which was introduced in many major markets outside the United States earlier this year, is now approved in the U.S. for cataract surgery in patients with presbyopia. 8:30 am...WILL HAVE NEWS JAN/FEB..I went to this one..here is my notes.......Sweet spot is pre IND for them...they like to derisk compounds for commercial partner...they think will boost eps...CEO want's to know by phase 1B if it will work...can't waste money..this CEO is great IMHO...I liked this company before..that is why I went to this one...Pipeline..Dapoxetine...partners with JNJ filled in 2007....DCB in Europe Cata Jan Feb will hear outcome...knock on Wood. Backlog has been growing very nice,...They have a TON of Cash per CEO...pretty good at collecting and not intensive Cap X...only CRO that pays a divident. No long term debt.... Cash and no debt..this is what the CEO said on 10/22 conf call from seeking alpha...Naturally, we are very upset and perplexed by the hammering our stock prices suffered. We have grown steadily with strong client demand for our services. We are maintaining target margins, have improving DSO, enjoy strong cash flows, have $612 million in cash and investments and have no long-term debt. We also recently increased our annual cash dividend rate by 25%. We believe that these attributes characterize a defensive stock opportunity in unsettling times. In any event, we will continue to work hard and trust that the equity markets will correct themselves"....t/a it has a nice uptrend just getting support of 50 day MA...and Well, last year I love this company going into the Conference...it had a nice pop but down 28% since last Jan...this is what I said last year...Arms Dealer..These Arm Dealers are so Laura Croft Sexy.
