Stocks that I think will outperform the S&P index over the next few years. They are pretty much value plays, and I have a point of view. I believe that oil prices will continue to increase because demand from India and China will outstrip production capacity, and the national oil companies in Mexico, Venezuela, and Russia will underinvest.
Alternative fuels and LNG will highlight just how much more valuable oil and gas are, and they will not add enough supply to make a difference in my investment time horizon.

Ocean Drilling, decent value

OIH
Oil Service Holdr - $115.68

ETF focused on drilling. Everytime I try to value these companies separately, I am never able to pull the trigger. I do not trust enough to know which will outperform. But I believe the entire group will outperform the S&P, and that is how I justified it.

Low P/E, and while reserves are not growing, I expect that oil prices will rise. Further, they are gushing cash, and sooner or later, that will accrue to the shareholder.

I know the CEO. I regard this as the best bank, and as long is he is there, I will hold the stock.

Ford Motor Co - $8.94

I know the CEO. He is the best leader I have ever seen running anything. I owned Boeing while he was there, and I made a lot of money on it. Ford stock has problems, especially with the dilution at $9.20, and it may be better to hold the bonds rather than the stock. But, I am betting that I will do pretty well.

VRTX
Vertex Pharmaceut - $40.22

- $40.14
This is a speculative play. If the PROVE 1 and 2 studies continue showing the results they have been, this stock should go to $50. Even if the study results prove less than current hopes, it will still do well. The big risk is if they find some big safety issue in the large scale trials, and I may not hang around for the Phase III trials.

Global oil driller and servicing play. Relatively low P/E, and forecast revenue and sales results look compelling.

Oil and natural gas find in the Gulf. I am skeptical of the claims they are making, but it still is a lot of oil and natural gas.
