CREE
Cree - $45.85

- $46.27
LED technology just about to be used in more profitable ways, specifically automotive, city lighting - stock has been trading around multi-year lows but new applications should begin hitting bottom line fairly soon - high price for energy make LEDs that much more attractive for large scale use. Company is the premier one in its space

VIV
Vivo Participac N - $29.48

- $28.70
Brazilian Telco under significant consolidation - company has been concentrating on profitability and this has been paying off in a big way - as Co pays down debt you are buying a very large company for small change

-
WFII
Wfii - $0.00

Interesting company has many big brains who have only just now started to focus on profitability - again a very small price to pay for a business which should be a pretty good one for some time. Speculative to be sure but an interesting one.

VRGY
Verigy Ltd. - $9.28

- $9.36
This is a largely unknown semiconductor test equipment company that sells for 1.3 times sales and 11-12 times next years earnings - specializes in SOC products which are the sweet spot for this industry Agilent spin-off with reputation for high quality

Satyam Computer S - $5.50
- -2.14%
- $5.73
has lagged behind its competitors - as a result is better priced and is still growing pretty darn rapidly. Emerging markets such as India Brazil and China will continue to grow faster than more established ones and companies like Satyam are well positioned to continue to grow as more and more countries have more or less ceded this business to their Indian counterparts. Recent underperformance also makes management a little less complacent.

GLW
Corning Inc - $15.80
- 0.00%
- $15.59
dominant player in glass substrate for LCD monitors(we are not going back to vacuum tubes any time soon Industrial filter business will continue to grow in excess of 40% for a LONG time as the world becomes more and more polluted and global accords on containing this pollution are beginning to kick in The fiber business will get a little better as phone companies are now forced to compete for value added services(so fiber to the home, office, communities etc) Stock is trading at a reasonable price(tho I would love it at 18)
