Michael Price is a legendary value investor and fund manager based in New Jersey. He was a protégé of Max Heine and quickly gained a reputation for painstaking analysis and for shaking up management. He sold Heine Securities to Franklin Resources for $670 million and a 5-year employment contract in 1996. Price now manages his private firm, MFP Investors, with approximately $1.6 billion under management, much of it his own money.
