I have put together a portfolio of stocks suitable for a young investor (early 20's). This portfolio is full of long term high potential investments mixed with short term and high risk investments. The portfolio is good for a young investor who has time (five to ten years) to acheive the capital gains they are looking for.

TTEK
Tetra Tech - $26.05
- -0.38%
- $25.95
TTEK is a long term relatively safe investment with great potential. It is a water management and enviromental clean up company. In the coming years, they plan to grow tremendously with the new "green" mentality. I have picked TTEK as a good long term pick.

PWAV
Powerwave Technol - $1.28
- 0.00%
- $1.26
From SmartMoney "Powerwave Technologies makes the amplifiers, antennas and other equipment that enable wireless phones and handheld devices to transmit and receive voice and data. Powerwave's parts are used in base stations, which are installed on towers and on top of buildings by the wireless carriers. Besides benefiting from continued growing use of cell phones and other handheld devices worldwide, the company should benefit from two important subtrends: the shift to 3G, or third-generation, phone networks and the spread of a new wireless technology known as WiMax. WiMax, a wide-area broadband technology that is rolling out in cities like Chicago and San Francisco, is an industrial-strength version of the Wi-Fi network in your home. A WiMax signal can carry up to 30 miles, and it's 20 times faster than current mobile technologies. Powerwave makes the antennas and base station hardware for WiMax, and it has only one major competitor, Andrew Corp." As a result of the above quote, I have picked PWAV as a greatly priced long term investment.

SCL
Stepan Co. - $58.18
- 0.00%
- $N/A
Stepan Company is best known as the makers of surfactants; chemicals used in everyday household cleaning items. Their surfactants are also used in industrial and agricultural applications which I feel is going to take off with the increase in corn production. Most recently, Stepan entered biodisel production. Now, profits are not nearly as high as potential with high soybean costs. Once those prices are tamed, Stepan has great potential to be a major player in the biodisel industry.
