Wal-mart is in a position to benefit from the struggling economy. WMT is a low cost provider of consumer goods. The consumer will continue to purchase these essential goods, (i.e. toothpaste, food, household products....) but will look to purchase at the cheapest price. No other retailer (besides maybe a Costco) can control costs enough to offer consumers the cheapest price. The stocks poor performace, in my view, has been a product of the overall bearish retail sector.

This company is not a housing play, but a play on home owners looking to make their houses more enery efficient. This is also a great wind play and the bears have this one wrong.

How many times does PEP have to reiterate their guidance before the street will believe the company?
