Needed a core holding for my portfolio. This fund is rock solid conservative and safe and is exceptionally well managed. I also like that it is 40% invested in overseas firms. It performs steadily well regardless of the economy. 'The Perfect Storm' can't get to it.

Felt it was time for BIG OIL to make a move and that they were exceptionally well managed and positioned to take advantage of the 2006 economy, which turned out to be the case.

Chose CVX for the same reason, and love the nice dividend pay-out

Outstanding, well diversified product line, great pipelline, foreign owned so not subject to pressures from democratic congress

Replaced my PFE with them, a low price due to the Walmart discount drug scare, which turned out to be nothing. Plan on expanding to 10,000 stores by 2010. It's gone up four or five bucks a share since I've bought it. I shop their all the time.

I've held a small block for a long time just because it's an exciting firm to be part owner of, though it isn't what it once was.

The Motley Fool featured it in an interesting article and in the Fools stock picking contest 2600 to 30 Fools voted a resounding thumbs up. Great product, great management, great fundamentals, and cheap buy in price due to one aberattional quarter's results.
