Date updated:07-18-2008
These are picks I either own or plan on owning for 6-18 month timeframe. I write about these stocks on my blog The Proficient Investor

-
BFLY
Bluefly - $1.19
- -0.83%
- $N/A
Bluefly is a strictly high end online retailer that is profitable and has an extremely low operating margin. They recently had a million dollar day and their fundamentals are strong. Easily a buyout target for the right bidder.

-
WFC
Wells Fargo & Co. - $24.39
- 0.00%
- $24.84
I work for Wells, nuff said.

-
ZQK
Quiksilver - $3.37
- 0.00%
- $3.25
Quicksilver is on a comeback with 23% growth predicted for 2007 and only trading at a P/E of 21. With spring and summer on the horizon, sales are likely to breakout since most of the clothing they make is geared toward surf/skate. This stock is now trading at 19 times earnings and 24% growth. They also just announced a partnership with Plantronics to create bluetooth enabled sports apparel.

-
AAPL
Apple Inc. - $139.49
- +0.10%
- $138.99
Apple was completely flat last year but will likely surge due to Macworld as well as their product cycle for this year's holiday season. Pick this up at $75.

-
TSCM
Thestreet.com - $1.95
- -0.51%
- $1.94
The Street.com is a great source of financial insight and stock news. I read it every day.

-
CNXT
Conexant Systems - $1.11
- 0.00%
- $1.09
Conexant is a spec play in the chip sector that I think will make a strong appearance in 2007.

-
KRY
Crystallex Intern - $0.27
- 0.00%
- $0.26
Hugo Chavez could put thousands to work in Venezuela if he allows the Las Cristinas mine to open. This would have immediate results on the price of Crystallex.

-
GBVS.OB
Gbvs.ob - $0.00
- N/A
- $N/A
This is a beverage company on the east coast that owns Rudy Beverages (Rudy Reuttiger's company) as well as Eon Water and Xtreme Beverage Network of Maryland. This is a regional to national growth story and a speculative play for me on the OTC.
