Big Band Networks has a considerable advantage over all competitors in Switched Digital Video (SDV) technology and fast implementation (4-6 weeks) of the technology with no downtime. The BMR 1200 is the best digital video processing router available at any price. The BME 50 is a rock solid edge QAM. The BMQ 6000 could be the biggest seller of all though. A single box multi service edge QAM with 48 channel density, the BMQ 6000 could beat out Cisco's dense QAM product, newly acquired from the purchase of Scientific Atlanta. SDV is the only cost effective method of increasing services offered by cable operators using HFC for signal delivery to the home without capital intensive plant upgrades. Do I work for Big Band...NO. Big Band's Achille's Heel is the CUDA CMTS product line purchased from ADC. There are much better products on the market; namely Cisco's 7200 series and 10000 series uBR lines. If Big Bands sinks too much $$ into R&D for the CUDA CMTS, they will be wasting cash and distracting their management from developing new products building on the product lines that got them where they are today.
