Determined. Flexible. Protected.

GME
Gamestop Corp - $25.58
- +13.14%
- $24.69
Video Games have slowly became an American necessity. With the upcoming slowdown, parents will recognize that home gaming systems are the cheapest way to keep their kids busy AND happy. GameStop's head-honchos 'get it'; they've produced a basic monopoly in the gaming sector and are just getting their feet wet in ROW.

-
VZ
Verizon Commun - $32.39
- +1.54%
- $31.86
Verizon's FIOS systems are launching all over the country during this quarter, and they are bound to steal enormous market share from the stagnant cable companies. With higher margins due to the cheap equipment needed to provide services, value can only grow in 2008. Also, connections to Verizon Wireless will be favorable this year; as Marketing and Advertising will be top-notch.

-
DIS
Walt Disney-disne - $22.90
- -1.21%
- $23.10
Simply put, reduced consumer spending means more people staying at home watching television. With the hollywood writers strike still pumping along, Disney's ESPN franchise will grow-as viewers migrate away from re-runs on other networks.

-
EMC
E M C Cp - $11.89
- +6.35%
- $11.74
The market has killed this stock lately. To be honest, I don't see it growing as much as its fellow tech compadres this year; the market seems to avoid awarding EMC for positive news. But, as JC prognosticates, its bound to jump with the intrinsic VMWARE value.

-
SAM
Boston Beer Co In - $28.20
- -0.60%
- $28.38
Boston Beer Co. was a great micro-brewing niche story before the market tumbled in October/November. Since then the stock has lost approx. 30% of its value, and the company has been making moves to increase its production margins across the country as its name grows into the "well known" quality beer spectrum. More of a long-term investment story, SAM might've found its bottoms up in 2008!

-
ATVI
Activision Blizza - $9.26
- +1.98%
- $9.25
Another long term story. The fact that Activision holds rights to some of the most profitable game franchises of all time (James Bond, Guitar Hero, Call of Duty) and now merges with Blizzard and its World of Warcraft fame, the sky is the limit. If this company decides to use WoW's platform structure on its line of games (particularly Call of Duty), the video game industry might finally explode into an internet-driven society like nobody can imagine. Activision has been in the business since there WAS a business for gaming; and they are positioned to be the leaders in the industry for a very long time.

-
AAPL
Apple Inc. - $92.70
- +1.86%
- $90.46
Everybody knows the story about AAPL. In my eyes, follow this stock from 160-180 and keep playing it until the "consumer slowdown" kicks in or disappears. I just can't see investors losing hope in this tech stallwart; and at the same time the market won't let it reach 200 until all macro concerns have been dealt with.
