Given the incorrect reporting of returns by Stockpickr, I have discontinued posting flags here and will move elsehwhere. Not only was the reporting bad, but I never got a response to my emails.
I have a program that detects the powerful technical patterns of flags and banners. (best chart pattern according to Bulkowski's book: "Encyclopedia of Charts Patterns" ) I search only for stocks with a price above $5 and daily average volume above 200,000 shares. If not, I discard it. I usually wait until volume picks up to buy, but one has to follow these stocks closely, as they can move fast. Recent flags with good results are JSDA, IFS and SILC. Others such as ONXX have been abandoned because the signal was given too long ago. After one month if there has been no major movement, stock is abandoned. I will update daily if people show interest in the data. I do make stop losses when the stock drop 5% with volume or 8% without, I will advise in each case when this happens.
