My Trading/Investment strategy is overly aggressive. I spend a lot of time researching, on tv and internet, love to see charts, and am very goal oriented. I bravely pull the trigger. I lose sleep over some of the risk I take, but I shall continue with my ways.

September and October 2007 were fantastic months where my overweight Tech Options earned me a ridiculous amount of money, so much in fact that I met my investing goals for the next 7 years.

At times I take too much risk in my investments, but since I use 35% of my job earnings for my investment base I don't think it's too out of line. (20% goes into my 401k, and 15% goes into my company ESPP).

Historic performance was:
2004 = 26.6%
2005 = 4.4%
2006 = 29.0%
2007 = 151.6%
2008 = -21.84% (was down 21.23% on Feb. 1)

In summary 2007 was a great year. 2008 started as horribly as 2007 ended. I am basically starting in a -20% hole for the year, so it looks like 2008 could bring a huge capital loss carryforward, but I think I can earn 20% for the remaining 8 months of the year.

1. The combined base stocks I hold in DHR and ESL will not be sold.
2. My ESL stake will probably grow in excess of 200 sh. annually for next 10-12 years, when I retire.
3. My investment goals are 10-15% return.
4. In 2007 I reduced debt by taking stock gains and payed off a second mortgage that was at 8.75% and also purchased a motorhome.
5. I am currently sitting with 25% in cash. I will reduce this position as value opportunies arise.

Like many other investors I watched MA climb in value. Sadly I ownded it a few times in the 50's and sold in the 60's. I started a large position and will most likely add more in the upcoming weks especially on signs of weakness. (8% of my portfolio)

Esterline. I work there. I take full advantage of a company *ESPP* and buy the maximum amount allowed at a 15% discount. ESL passed $1B in sales. This is a $55-$60 stock with additional upside as aerospace remains strong. On 5/10/04 it was $22.94 On 1/09/08 it is $47.00 On 2/22 it dipped to $45 so I added some speculative shares to my protfolio (25% of my portfolio)

Nice conglomerate. Well diversified company. This is one of the few that was bought to HOLD. My DHR stock grew 21% in 2007. On 5/10/04 it was $44.48 On 1/01/08 it was $87.74 Now it retreated some to $76 (21% of my portfolio)

Dupont. This is one of my two agriculture plays, the other is Potash. As long as government mandates their crackpipe-smoking love affair for ethanol, the cost of grains will remain high. (3.5% of my portfolio)
