Taiwanese stocks are rallying after its presidential election points to closer ties with China. But it’s not just a China play.

The oppositition party’s win in the election is a bullish sign that the country is set up to pursue friendly relations with China, according to Tim Seymour. As well as being a proxy for China, Taiwan is also the fifth largest economy in Asia, it’s cheap compared to the rest of the continent and, most importantly, the trade is just getting started, Seymour said.
