Hey, I'm a newb. Don't follow my lead. This is what I own on 8/24/08.

-
RIMM
Research In Motio - $59.76
- +0.39%
- $59.69
8.8% Bought ahead of earnings like an idiot. Job got in the way of buying more lower. Hoping to get out of this trade alive. Doubled down at 106 so I'm sitting right at even. Update 8/3: sold what I bought at 106 for 119. If it comes back, I'll buy it again.

-
WWE
World Wrestling E - $15.88
- +0.32%
- $16.19
7.5% Update: I'm selling out and will be happy to get out even. Eventually I believe the law or tax laws will have an affect on profitability. The source of all this is the fact that the wrestlers are called "independent contractors" by management, but are treated as employees. I think eventually it will catch up to the company. No clue when. Until then, a good dividend. ================= I bought in and on two subsequent 10% drop levels. Holding my breath now that consumer discretionaries are looking even more bleak. Price recovered a little this week, so I'm less worried on this one.

-
YUM
Yum Brands Inc - $35.71
- +0.39%
- $35.70
11.5% Doubled down at 34.20. Trying to build a position for the quarter that will reflect Chinese Olympics earnings even though this should not be an event for earnings.

-
PH
Parker Hannifin C - $55.02
- +0.26%
- $54.89
11% Hoping to catch a bounce. For a trade, not an investment. Alright, I'm drinking the cool-aid. Also forgot that this one was a trade. Bought a second bit when the group got hit on ETN's earnings. It's supposed to be a well-run company, so we should be ok. Earnings on 7/31.

-
RIG
Transocean Ltd - $86.36
- +1.09%
- $85.07
12.6% Digging it for now (plus a little wishful thinking). Don't know how it trades at a 10 P/E compared to it's competitors, but hopefully that means it's a good value.

-
NUE
Nucor Cp - $43.08
- +2.64%
- $42.13
11% Hoping to catch a bounce. For a trade, not an investment. Well, I forgot that this was a trade and doubled down at 62.50. I'm hoping for a rally when the money comes back into the market. Steel should be doing well, but global slowdown worries, apparently.

-
TRN
Trinity Ind - $19.26
- -0.72%
- $19.40
4.4% Bought in the sell-off on 6/24/08. This may be my wind play. Had a good run for a little bit. Hoping for good earnings on 7/30. Sold some on 7/31 for a nice gain. If it keeps running, I'll sell the rest. This one's working well for me.

-
GE
Gen Electric Co - $16.18
- +0.37%
- $16.24
6.4% Hoping to catch a bounce after the good quarter and re-structuring. Overpaid a bit in hindsight.
