The Magic Formula is described by Joel Greenblatt's book "The Little Book that Beats the Market" and, as Greenblatt describes, has demonstrated success in every market condition. It ranks companies by return on invested capital and free cash flow over enterprise value.
However, this portfolio consists of the 10 stocks that are "dogs" of the top 20 Magic Formula Stocks.
In other words, the 10 worst performing stocks of the group over the last 52 week period. Could be a contrarian's dream portfolio.
