Alternative energy wind component replacing fiberglass in new generation large wind turbines. All turbine makers now going for the larger, more potent 2.0+ MW models. Vestas, a big European maker is building plants around the world and Zoltec is the preferred blade material maker.

Solar, China labor, factory on a river, management locking in silicon supplies and best gross and net in the sector. Making panels for the biggest solar installation in the world in Spain. Have contract for the 08 Olympics. Just bought a Japanese solar installer that puts collectors into building materials. just developed a good system for crappy quality silican and got Memc (WFR) to cancel a contract and supply STP with short supply siliccon. Priced fairly rght now so wait for a better entry if you like solar. Compared to Sunpower (SPWR) and Evergreen (ESLR) this is the one. Many new supply contracts for silicon to insure material availability are a big plus for the next year or so until supplies come up to meet demand.

WiMax (still waiting for real action) Wimax will be big where there is no optical cable. That is most of the world if you did not know it. Great for rural America too. They can do high speed broad band for triple play and do it for mobile units as well as fixed. They are the preferred provider in large swaths of Asia too. Read the news on ALVR very positive deals being announced.

Chip Design Diverse tech in gadgets of many flavors. Concentration of customers is a big negative, current dirt cheap price is a big plus. Well loved in 2006 but hated of late due to erporting delays and options screw up that are getting fixed by cash returns by execs. They are trying to do it right and suits are being filed but who else has fessed up and given back cash, A winner! 25 to 30 in 12 to 18 months maties!

Internet High Speed Booster - Steelhead product makes the long distance internet work many times faster than now. Customer base includes military and they are just getting started. You'll be reading about these guys. Not a very good deal today but for longer horizons (year plus) a good one. Do some homework to find a bettter entry point. I found it at 19 and have missed the train but all trains stop from time to time to get fresh water and coal.

Update 8/07 well it's over 100 now sorry I didn't listen to my self I knew this was a great one and I sold it for 65. I hate myself now. Took $20 and left another $35 on the table. I tell myself something is better than nothing at these moments. Check out the options - super high priced and should not be near term is ugly. Global Positioning System Gear - Garmin is high end but is going to get cheaper as they tank in Q 1/07 cheaper which is a very normal trading pattern in recent years), have new serious competion (besides Tom Tom) from South Korea. Garmin will lose some market share, and have have margin compression near term. Recognize that they have a super duper product liine for light planes that lets you land in the fog like you have radar, their new boat systems are the cat's meow and they don't make the cheap stuff but sometimes being the class act in a carnival is the way to play. Will be 60 / Share by Santa's next visit in 2007. The analysts love this puppy for what that is worth. I got in cheap and am in the money even after the recent drop from 56 to 41. it's a wild ride but if you can see past tomorrow the future is so bright you have to wear shades. See also SIRF (80% plus market share and another good deal in mid January 2007 and about to go into every telephone made) which will sell GPS chips to any Tom, Dick or Harry. Just took a big hit but will start cooking again really soon. See Jim Jubak for a nice write up on MSN.com He got in a tad early as a new picl but he doesn't shoot for the moon he just likes good fundamentals. He ain't into that cup and handle, wait for the turn, Voodoo thing! (Techical analysis) Catch a falling knife and make some decent money. More up than down right now.
