My Actual current starter portfolio. None really picked on strength of specific ratios or numbers, more of a gut instinct or personal preference. This was before I started learning how to crunch the numbers.

-
AAPL
Apple Inc. - $205.88
- +2.98%
- $203.12
Unique offerings, surprise announcements, innovative technology, plus I was fairly certain about the potential offering of the iPhone. Bought too high, but have gained about 7%

-
CSCO
Cisco Systems - $23.90
- +1.88%
- $23.67
I'm in IT and have been following CSCO for a long time. Bought it fairly high but it's up over 20%

-
DLTR
Dollar Tree - $49.10
- +0.35%
- $49.49
DLTR is local to where I am, good local stock, consistent dividends if shallow growth. I have some relationships with employees and have worked with them before from an IT perspective. Mainly for diversification purposes

-
EBAY
Ebay Inc. - $23.45
- +2.90%
- $22.96
I'm not sure...down 15% for me

-
SAI
Saic Inc - $18.04
- 0.00%
- $N/A
Again, relationships and previous working relationship drove this purchase...I got in post IPO at the IPO high and have dropped significantly despite earnings growth. I believe defense contracting will only increase despite a democratic congress.

-
GOOG
Google Inc. - $582.35
- +2.17%
- $576.41
Everybody wants GOOG and I bought just 1 share. Up 20% from where I bought...I just like the company, their mantra and their innovation.

SIX
Six - $0.00

- $N/A
Low price stock, undervalued at purchase and helped round out portfolio away from tech stocks...it's fun. I like investing in fun/entertainment.
