We are seeing the effects of lower gasoline everywhere today, including all of the retailers that everyone told us would have a horrible holiday season. Target (TGT), J.C. Penney (JCP) and the other trade ups from Wal-Mart (WMT) are just tearing. What happened to those sellers there? What happened to all of the people who were worried about bad debts and stretched consumers? Remarkable how little memory we have of a week ago.
