AA
Alcoa Inc - $13.34
- +3.49%
- $13.13
The buyers haven't cared about the fundamentals to date. Not one bit. But the bad news is right in our faces today with the two areas that have been red hot: basic materials and tech. The reverberations from Alcoa (AA) and Intel (INTC) are stressing things. Yet, amazingly, I don't expect it to matter all that much. The money inflows and the "I told you so" factor is really with us. In fact, I believe that the oil decline is more important for the "feel" of the market than Intel and Alcoa. I want to emphasize, as I did on last night's show, that China, not the U.S., is the place to be for leverage. Intel's got some China exposure and Alcoa's been backing away from China. I also mentioned that Alcoa remains the worst-run mineral company in the world. All that said, I expect the rotation, which Exxon (XOM) told you was out of gas yesterday, will return the bias to the soft goods. Meanwhile, the small-caps will outperform first, in part because they were slaughtered last year, just slaughtered, and they remain the rebound candidates once the smoke clears, except the ones in tech, which are typically Intel derivatives in the end.

WFC
Wells Fargo & Co - $28.40
- +4.72%
- $27.50
From a recent Mad Money show: "This one has acted like a bow wow, but I've been buying it. They've got a huge mortgage portfolio and I'm banking with Wells Fargo."

-
GT
Goodyear Tire Rub - $13.59
- +3.50%
- $13.21
From a recent Mad Money show: "Other than the fact this one's down so much there's nothing to like here. That one needs oil to go down and autos to go up and that's too hard for this market."

-
ECOL
American Ecology - $17.19
- +0.70%
- $17.11
From a recent Mad Money show: "I would buy some here and I'd buy more if it comes down. This is a great hazardous waste disposal company and I like it."

-
ISIS
Isis Pharmaceutic - $13.58
- +0.89%
- $13.63
From a recent Mad Money show: "Isis is an interesting speculation. I would not be a buyer of Isis at this level."

-
CPRT
Copart - $33.20
- +0.97%
- $33.05
From a recent Mad Money show: "This is another company that's made its quarter and is doing well. I want to be a buyer of Copart."

-
HIG
Hartford Fin Svc - $25.34
- +5.19%
- $24.67
From a recent Mad Money show: "I've been doing a lot of work on these companies, and I favor Travelers Companies . Hartford is a keeper, though."

-
GOOG
Google Inc. - $562.51
- +2.07%
- $554.99
From a recent Mad Money show: "I feel that Google is having a good quarter and is a decent stock but in the end it's hostage to advertising. That makes it only a mild buy."
