The way that I found these companies was by looking for small cap plays on a strong global economy and strong commodities prices. All of these companies have a price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) that is less than 2x the company's estimated earnings-per-share (EPS) growth rate.

Debt/Equity: 0.279 Float: 31.43 mil. shares Short Interest: 13.8% Bucyrus Industries (BUCY) produces equipment for the mining industry. Demand for coal in the U.S. and the rest of the world is expected to be strong. Additionally, copper demand should remain strong because of China's seemingly insatiable desire. The company markets its products across the globe.

In case you have not noticed, there seems to be no slowdown in the construction and reconstruction of roads in the U.S. The company sells its products in the U.S. and across the globe including the burgeoning economies of Latin America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Interestingly, the company does little business in China because of protectionist tariffs and low demand for its high technology equipment.

Companies who provide deepwater drilling services such as Global SantaFe (GSF) and Transocean (RIG) have said that they have signed contracts at high day rates. These companies have excellent visibility for the future and they see a strong environment for their services. This should prove favorably for GLBL.
