Sandisk holds key patents for flash memory. The company is vertically integrated as it designs, manufactures and sells flash memory cards, as well as consumer electronics such as it's Sansa music player, and it's solid state hard drive. Sandisk has been dogged by a glut in NAND (flash memory) supplies. However, demand is ever growing for smaller geometries and greater memory, and Sandisk has patented key (and maybe the only) technological solutions for higher capacity NAND. As the glut dries up, the price rises, and the shorts are simultaneously squeezed, Sandisk should be a long term winner for years to come.

The Chinese Population generally seems to adopt domestic companies over foreign. Baidu should continue to gain market share against Google and Yahoo for this reason.
