Retail financial. Probably a 2 year play. Expecting flat earnings this yr ... meh. BUT: reducing LT debt; increasing equity. Generating cash. P/B: 1.43.

Beatdown Financial ... p/e 7.5! Equity increasing on balance sheet, BUT: cashflow coming from investments - which are decreasing. Watch/wait.

Why can't I pull the trigger on this? P/E

Here's your growth bunny: fwd P/E 12 vs. 26 trail. P/B 2.3. Share pricing slumping since 05. Swallowed more LT debt ... meh. Closer examination reveals $ problems; quarterly sales slowed, lost $. A Cramer pick (blech) ... but also TBoonP - it will get noticed.

American Railcar. Fwd. P/E 14 vs. 20 trail. Low LTD. Like this more than RAIL, though that's a more attractive takeover target ...

Novartis. Pharma stock prices often seem like roulette to me ... so few understand the realities of the drug pipeline. I wish I knew more. From a $ POV: fwd P/E 14 vs. 17 trail. P/B just above 3. Debt is decreasing markedly. Net borrowings of -2.9B last year led to -2.5B impact on cashflow - but equity still grew. Huh. Normally, a great sign ... but it's NOVARTIS, man.
