With $2 trillion in private equity and $600bb in corporate coffers, BusinessWeek thinks the boom in takeovers will continue into 2007. For smaller banks, they could experience earnings pressure due to thehousing bust and this will thurst them into the arms of larger predators. For tech, companies like MSFT or EMC would rather buy than build, and for the big oil guys could fall in love with the natural gas players.
