Stable income with growth. I do not need to watch these investments every day, and intend on holding these for years. I have no "Sell Block".

-
BAC
Bk Of America Cp - $15.47
- -3.01%
- $15.34
Great dividend and advancing stock price. These people care about their stockholders.

-
PGN
Progress Energy I - $38.80
- -1.30%
- $38.93
Electric utility in a growing part of the country. Hard to turn down a 5% dividend.

-
CVX
Chevron Corp - $78.17
- -1.85%
- $77.63
Oil will be king for a while. I worked in the oil business, and believe in the theory of finite oil with maximum production at some time. As suggested by some, we may be here now. CVX sells the best gasoline available - Techron additive is well above anything on the market and saves me 5-10 percent over other brands. Unlike COP, they have an exploration program and will be here tomorrow. WIth oil's growth, you also have to like the 3+ percetn payout.

-
PEP
Pepsico Inc - $62.30
- -1.41%
- $62.24
All that America loves - sugar and cafeen in Pepsi, cholestoral and salt in the Frito snack foods. These products cover four essential food groups!! This stock never goes down, and will ride out bad times.

-
COST
Costco Wholesale - $60.03
- -1.41%
- $59.49
Growth stock - dividend stinks. Their customers are higher income than Walmart, and COST has many cities for growth. They could be the next Walmart. Also, a rare assett, a humble down to earth CEO.

-
MMP
Magellan Midstrea - $40.91
- +0.86%
- $40.02
This is a pratnership in the dull business of transport, storage, and selling liquid petroleum fiels. Great 6% payout in a very stable business.

-
VZ
Verizon Commun - $31.63
- -1.25%
- $31.51
Telcom - they will pay me good dividends for a few years, but watch for the influx of VOIP phones. I have a VOIP - great quality phone service at one fourth the price of my land line carrier ATT.

-
DUK
Duke Energy Cp Hl - $16.69
- -0.36%
- $16.52
Duke Power - electric utility only. They are a great operator and can turn great returns in a regulated business (current at 4%). I just bought in when they spun off Spectra. Now that Duke is back to what they know best - regulated electricity sales - I like them. Regulated utilities often are killed in the free market because their managers are inexperienced in free market business. Buy now before the market realizes Duke is back to basics.
