From Barron's 7-30-07: "Harbinger Capital Partners Master Fund I said that it's reviewing its options regarding the proposed merger of Salton and Harbinger-owned APN Holding. Harbinger said that its choices include terminating the merger agreement on or after July 31, proposing amendments to the deal's terms, proposing alternate transactions to Salton or taking no action. Harbinger believes that the merger won't be completed by that deadline because Salton hasn't mailed its shareholders a notice of a meeting to approve the merger. Harbinger currently holds 3,348,667 shares (18.59% of the total outstanding)."

From Barron's 7-30-07: "Octavian Management urged the company's board to immediately engage AirTran Holdings (ticker: AAI) in merger talks. Octavian Management believes that Midwest's failure to negotiate with AirTran represents "a serious breach of fiduciary responsibility." AirTran's latest offer valued Midwest at about $15 a share. More than half of Midwest's shareholders have agreed to tender their shares in favor of the bid, while the board has continually pledged that Midwest is more profitable alone. Octavian owns 1,830,800 shares (7.5%)."

From Barron's 7-30-07: "Trinad Capital Master Fund wants the company to evaluate alternatives and remove its chairman from the board. Trinad wants the board to take immediate action to improve the company's operating and stock performance, and the board's accountability. The investor also wants to appoint two of its designates to NTN Buzztime's board and amend bylaws that, it contends, entrench directors and management. Trinad Capital owns 3.7 million shares (6.6%)."

From Barron's 7-30-07: "Riley Investment Partners Master Fund intends to nominate four candidates for election to the ESS board at the 2007 annual meeting. Riley Investment has been calling for the company to close its operations and sell its assets. Riley's nominees are Bryant Riley, Mel Keating, Michael Gullard and Robert D'Agostino. Riley Investment currently holds 1,630,849 shares (4.6%)."

Equity Partners wants certain records from the company so that it can investigate what it says are potential improprieties in management, operations and board oversight. Barington has suggested that Lancaster take measures that it says would create value for shareholders, including selling its automotive, glassware and candle businesses. Barington also has questioned Lancaster's staggered-board structure and poison-pill provision. Barington has 1.67 million shares (5.33%)."

AMG owns 564,905 LNB Bancorp shares (8.8%)."
