Each week Barron's has a 13D Filings column. 13Ds are filed when a fund (usually an activist hedge fund) accumulates more than 5% of a firm and is planning on pushing for change (e.g.a sale of the company, sale of certain assets, a share buyback, or a share dividend) to unlock value.

Ramius Value and Opportunity Master Fund sent a letter to TLGD nominating four candidates for election to its board: Scott Chandler, Jeffrey Libshutz, Edward Meyercord and Jeffrey Solomon. Ramius intends to discuss the nominations with the Pittsburgh-based network-service provider. Ramius holds 1,568,112 shares (11.8% of the total outstanding).

Shareholder Holland M. Ware is "no longer interested in acquiring the company," but wants to remain a passive shareholder. In January, Forestar said that it had received an unsolicited bid from Ware to buy it for $15 a share, or about $535.5 million. Forestar issued a press release in early February saying the board had unanimously rejected Ware's proposal. Ware holds 444,230 shares (1.2%).

Costa Brava Partnership III said that TechTeam recently expanded its board's size to 10 directors, appointing Seth Hamot, Charles Frumberg and James Lynch to the board. Costa Brava said the three were also appointed to TechTeam's governance and nominating committee. Costa Brava holds 1,360,391 shares (12.5%).

Donald Trump, the former chairman, disclosed that he had abandoned all of his partnership interests in the company, saying they are "worthless and lack potential to regain value." Trump Entertainment returned to Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Feb. 17, capping months of negotiations with major creditors and following a missed bond payment. Trump no longer beneficially owns 4.82 million shares issuable upon the exchange of the Class A partnership interests and 4.55 million shares issuable upon the exchange of Class B partnership interests.
