"JMB Capital Partners Master Fund wants Maguire to create an independent committee to evaluate strategic options and add two JMB representatives to the board to participate. JMB also wants Maguire to separate the positions of chairman and CEO and void all current standstill arrangements with prospective buyers. Southpaw believes the fundamental value of Silicon Graphics substantially exceeds the value implied by its current stock price. It also maintains that Silicon's "market-leading technologies, highly desirable installed customer base, superior reputation within the industry and rich intellectual-property portfolio [are] severely undervalued at the current stock price." "LNB Bancorp's CEO, Daniel E. Klimas, urged shareholders to disregard a proposal by dissident holder AMG Investments to take control of the company's board. AMG owns a 7.7% stake in LNB, and has said it intends to launch a proxy contest in which it would pursue a special meeting of shareholders to remove all but three of LNB's 13 directors and replace them with six of its own nominees. Klimas described AMG as "a short-term opportunistic shareholder," and called its proposal "self-serving.""

"Riley Investment Management said Trans World CEO Robert Higgins has asked if Riley is interested in joining his offer to acquire TWMC. Previously, TWMC received a nonbinding proposal from Higgins to acquire all of outstanding TWMC shares for $5 each, cash. Higgins and related entities hold a 40% stake. Riley said Higgins requested permission from TWMC's special committee to allow Riley to co-invest in the acquisition. Riley called it "an attractive opportunity" but has not yet agreed to participate. Riley Investment currently holds about 3.7 million shares (11.9%)."
