Appaloosa Management said it's open to talking with Centerbridge Capital and Dana, a maker of driveshafts, axles and other vehicle parts, about an alternative proposal to help Dana out of bankruptcy. Appaloosa proposes that Centerbridge invest $250 million in Series A preferred stock with controlling-governance provisions, while Appaloosa provide the funding for a $500 million Series B preferred-stock investment and an equity-rights offering. Appaloosa holds 22.5 million shares (14.98% of the total outstanding).

SAC Capital reported holding 1.9 million shares (8.9%) of i2 Technologies and called for a sale of the company.

Noonday Asset urged the board to vigorously explore alternatives, including a sale of some or all of its assets. Noonday holds 3.19 million shares (10.4%).

Ramius Capital has said that it would like to nominate Ceasar Anquillare, Peter Feld and Jeffrey Smith for election to the Kensey Nash board at the 2007 annual meeting. Ramius holds 2.49 million shares (20.8%).

Barington Capital said that it intends to nominate Barington Chief Executive James A. Mitarotonda and business adviser Phillip D. Ashkettle for election to the board at its 2007 shareholders' meeting. Barington Capital holds 2.37 million shares (9.69%).

Lawndale Capital said that it intends to withhold 916,052 shares (9.3%) for the reelection of directors David Molfenter, W. Peter Slusser and Bradley Smith at the Oct. 24 annual meeting. Lawndale holds 960,460 shares (9.8%).

Accipiter Capital said that it will nominate three candidates for election to the board at the 2007 annual meeting. Accipiter has 3.7 million shares (14.99%).

Prides Capital has entered into a plan to sell up to 1.1 million shares through Sept. 30, 2008. Prides Capital currently holds about 5.84 million (12.7%).
