Highland Capital Management has turned activist and filed papers with the SEC stating its opposing to the proposed funding plan by hedge funds Appaloosa Management and Cerberus Capital Management. Highland also plans to file its own plan with the bankruptcy court dealing with Delphi. The fund currently owns 49.5M shares or 8.8% of the company.

A group led by Bulldog Investors plans to appoint 2 members to the board and force the company to drop its poison-pill provisions. The group wants the company to hire and bank and put itself up for sale, and currently owns close to 1 Million shares or6.58% of the company.

Bay Harbour Management has filed papers showing ownership of 1,177,245 shares or 6% of the company after it purchased an additional 437,700 shares in December from prices ranging between $11.02 to $12.67 per shares.

Shamrock Activist Value Fund raised its holdings to 1,993,200 shares or 6.67% of the company by purchasing an additional 750,000 shares at prices ranging between $9.92 and $13.38.

Emblaze increased its ownership in the company to 5,590,420 shares or 42%by buying 538,183 shares at prices ranging between $12.18 to $13.16 per share.

Sun Capital Securities increased its position to 3,122,634 shares or 12% of the company by acquiring an additional 268,300 shares at prices ranging between $4.42 and $4.60.
