Dividends: Tomorrow's Ex-Dividend Stocks
Below is a list of some of the companies that have their ex-dividend date Monday, Dec. 7, 2009. What is the ex-dividend date? The ex-dividend date of a stock is the single most important date for dividend investors to consider. To receive a stock's upcoming dividend, an investor must purchase shares of the stock prior to the ex-dividend date. Generally, the price of a stock rises in relation to the amount of the anticipated dividend as the ex-dividend date approaches. It drops back on the first day of the ex-dividend period to reflect the amount that is being paid out as dividend.
