WaMu's Killinger Out: Why was He Still There?	The news isn't that nearly bankrupt Washington Mutual (WM) fired CEO Kerry Killinger, the news is how he inexplicably lasted so long. In July, Washington Mutual posted a quarterly loss of $3.33 billion and said losses through 2011 in its one-family residential mortgage portfolio would probably be toward the high end of its prior forecast of $12 billion to $19 billion. Banks…Still the Best Business	I am not sure who will survive and what the landscape will look like, but banks are still the best business once the shit is cleared out of the system. Big bets are already being plunked down in the last few days on who will survive and thrive. That type of betting is not for me. Washington Mutual Closes The Barn Door	Washington Mutual (WAMU) closed the proverbial barn door after shareholders voted 51%plus to install a non employee as Chairman. WAMU announced on Monday it will replace Chief Executive Kerry Killinger as chairman of the board and take other steps to improve corporate governance.
