I owned American Century Global Gold (BGEIX), a closed end gold mutual fund, until I did this analysis. I'd like to see if it's best to own this, or perhaps an ETF that tracks gold specifically (like GLD), or individual gold stocks owned by BGEIX. I got the latter information from www.morningstar.com, based on their publicly disclosed holdings as of December 31, 2006.BGEIX portfolio is very heavily weighted towards Canadian gold producers. I'm leaning towards diversifying to Australia, South Africa, and other countries.
