The Dow Jones Industrial Average is dramatically underweighted in finance. That's how you can see a nice rally today. That and the fact that we are so oversold that it truly is hard to force the market down --and believe me that's what's happening after the SEC, sadly, got rid of the uptick rule that stopped bear raids. But back to the Dow. Go back to the 1990 scenario, where the money center banks were cut in half but the Dow declined 10%. It may very well be the way to think of this market. But that means, frankly, that you must consider buying the "safe" Dow stocks that get hammered when the futures go nuts to the downside because that's where the bargains are.
