From 7-27-07:Several stocks have been left for dead. Are they all dead? Is that all there is? Are they doomed forever to go down? Are they all so toxic that there is no floor? I doubt it. Companies that are lenders to mortgages only are dead. Companies that need financing to close are left for dead.
But here is the way I look at this. These companies have cash. They are not run by morons. They can take action to make things better. It is no reason whatsoever to buy them, but I would pick at them here. In the long run, maybe they are not going to be as good as I thought earnings-wise, but what's left for dead can come back alive and bite you. Or make you money.
