Barron's: Stocks Trading Below Tender

""Simultaneous declines in both stock prices and bond yields" -- like that seen last week -- "are indicative of a recession," notes Jason Trennert, chief investment strategist at Strategas Partners. "But given an unemployment rate of 4.5%, improved capex expectations, strong export growth and the aggregate strength of corporate balance sheets, the chances of recession appear remote." At 6.7%, the market's forward earnings yield is still rich relative to the 4.8% payout from 10-year Treasurys, he notes, and should support stock buying."
