For anybody familiar with Peter Schiff, you may or may not know that he is
seriously considering running for Connecticut Senate against Chris Dodd. The
only way we are going to change Washington for the better is if we vote the bums
out and replace them with competent people who will respect our Constitution.
I'm barely getting by right now, but I made a contribution to his campaign this
morning. I urge anybody here that respects Peter as I do to make a contribution
as well.

*Thoughts on shorting the long end of the U.S. bond market using TBT?
Does anyone own this ETF and if so what are the biggest risks you see for owning
this fund?
My biggest concern with trading this ETF is that the government might decide to
put the kybash on these ultra-short vehicles.
Thanks

- Q:
Anyone else think Yamana Gold (AUY) could be a acquisition target?
The stock is currently trading slightly above its equity value. I sold AUY
awhile back because I didn't like the management anymore, however the stock was
beaten down so significantly this past Fall and I know their assets are worth
one hec of a lot more than the present market cap.
It's too bad Freeport Mcmoran (FCX) doesn't have the cash to buy Yamana because
I think the assets would be in much better hands. Just my opinion though.

I'm starting to research oil/nat gas trusts in Canada and elsewhere. Any
opinions as far as which ones are best of breed? I know many of them have a lot
of debt and a good strong balance sheet is really important to me. Any
suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. -

This rally has the potential to suck a lot of people back into the market. At
some point though, we are going to meet a lot of over-head resistence/supply.
Those who held on through the massacre will be big sellers if we keep climbing.
This is just something I have been thinking about over the last few days.
In my opinion, as long as Obama and Congress continue on the road of trying to
re-inflate our bubble economy, I have to sell every rally. Our so called leaders
aren't turning to avoid going over the cliff, they're stepping on the gas in my
opinion. Our country must kick this addiction to credit we have now rather than
later.
It has been nice making some money on the long side though for a change. Hope
everyone has a profitable day.

China 'worried' about US Treasury holdings
"They are worried about forever-rising deficits, which may devalue Treasuries by
pushing interest rates higher," said JP Morgan economist Frank Gong. "Inside
China there has been a lot of debate about whether they should continue to buy
Treasuries."
I'm posting this to merely point out that if China cuts us off, we're in a lot
of trouble because the dollar will suffer significantly. The Fed will really
crank up the printing presses if this happens which would only hurt the dollar
more.
Commodities & Select Foriegn Currencies/Stocks. This is the strategy I'm
sticking with.

Anybody else buying some gold/silver today? Nice pullback from $1000. If you
didn't want to chase it before here's your chance to get some exposure. The
psychology/state of the financial markets and the temptation of governments to
use inflation to get us out of this mess are all positives for precious metals.
