I purchased BRY at $15.36. At the moment, the stock's price is $25.22. That's
a 64.23% return. From what I've read, analysts are starting to think that this
company ain't doing so well. I'm going to do some more research before starting
the process of selling BRY, but I'd like someone's opinion on the company's
situation before I do so. -

A: short interest is no reason to sell. Peter is right on, a the very least put a stoploss
around $14.8 roll it up from there.
this is a fantastic looking stock. no clue what the company does but the stock looks
outstanding.
if i were trading it, id sell some of it, put the stop at the aforementioned price and let
it go for a bit.
youve got a rising stock in a rising stock market. as peter said, the inclination of
humans is to sell too early. analysts, by the very nature of the business, cant get it
right enough to trade real time. its, ironically, not even what the industry is about. more - Post your own answer

Is Hess Corp in trouble or just on sale? Today, the stock plummeted 11.27%.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I assume that the reason is that the
company appointed a new Senior Vice President of Global Production named Michael
Turner. He worked for 28 years at Shell, and appears to be an experienced,
successful guy. So, is now the time to stock up on Hess (which is what I'm
thinking) or to cut my losses? -

Ok, I figure that everyone already knows this, but I just realized it. (Call me
slow if you want to.) I've been looking at the prices of many stocks over
varying periods of time, including AAPL, Costco, and Pfizer. Over the past
three months, the price of each bottomed on March 9th. I then looked at the Dow
Jones and the S&P 500, and the same was so for them. My real question is, has
everyone noticed this? -

A: Ok, let's make this clear. I only meant by this question that I had not previously known
what the exact day was when numerous stocks and the Dow Jones all bottomed out. I'm not a
moron. I knew that many stocks reached their lowest points in early-mid March. The exact
date was the only thing new to me. So saying that you started to notice in February
doesn't make any sense, kjp712. Are you saying that you started to realize that the
market would bottom on March 9th in February? No one can guess the exact date when the
market bottoms! That's ridiculous! It's hard enough to estimate the month. So please
stop with the snide comments. more - Resolved

Can someone please tell me what happened to Best Buy? I hadn't looked at the
stock's price in weeks, and I was surprised to see that it's gone down over 10%
in the last month. I was looking into purchasing BBY at one point, but I worry
that there's something I'm missing. Well, I know there must be... -

On May 7, I bought Keryx Biopharmaceuticals at $0.32 a share. Today, I
increased my share in the company by more than 50% when I purchased more at
$0.49 a share. This was up seven cents from its open, so this move was
certainly risky, and seemed potentially hazardous at the time. However, I
justified it because I believe that this company will grow and not return to its
previous price. Luckily for me, KERX went up almost 66% today, and I've made an
average of a 92.94% return overall (combining the two purchases). Now, it is
approximately 8% of my portfolio. Should I sell KERX, and if so, what
percentage of my holdings? -

Fiat has recently made a big splash globally with its recent 35% stake in
Chrysler. Over the last three months, the stock has more than doubled.
However, many economists doubt the company's ability to make the ailing Chrysler
profitable. Would you suggest purchasing, shorting, or steering clear of Fiat? -

A: Overvalued is such a relative term. BIDU exhibits great growth prospects; both in
geographic region and sector. The question is whether buyers will pay more in forward P/E
terms now than , say, two years ago, considering the current economic environment.
Example: two years ago buyers may have paid 30 times forward earnings for this type of
growth. Considering the current environment would it not be a possibility that buyers
might pay 50 or even 60 times forward earnings for the same earnings since growth
prospects may be anemic in other areas of the market?
Granted, the p/e's I listed were purely for example purposes since I do not follow BIDU.
My point is that in an anemic growth envrionment growth stocks may be at an even greater
premium than normal. more - Post your own answer
