Patrick1,
Your comment on CHK and McClendan's compensation is noted, but I can think of
one worse (I'm sure we all can).
The CEO of NBR took home $78 million last year. Promoted as a cost cutting
measure, he decided to lower his death bonus (money he gets when he dies) from
$264 million to $100 million. In other words, he'll cut his pay only when he
dies. Who needs life insurance when you got a death bonus? -

A: About 500,000 shares. If it's less than that, I'm always a bit uncomfortable simply
because it could be moved around by one big buyer/seller...and that's something that no
one can really control. more - Post your own answer

David,
What's your view of WWE? It's always had a nice yield (though never 12%). Do
you think the div is safe for this one? About what level (unless we're already
there) would consider the div unsafe? -

A: I've followed this one for several quarters now. I do think the dividend is secure for
now, aided by the hefty cash balance.
<P/>
It's also worth noting that the founding McMahon family takes a smaller per-share dividend
than the common shareholders. I can't think of anywhere else I've seen that. more - Post your own answer

Dan,
Looking at gold, it's had a nice bounce today. Why the bounce? I see that it
hit the lower BB yesterday. Would that be why?
Also, if gold drops below the 200 MA, where would the next level of resistance
be? $800?
Thanks in advance. -

A: I "think" the bounce would be due to two things. First, gold has fallen quite a
bit over the past few weeks so it is due for a bounce. Second, gold is likely reacting to
the 200-day moving average. Commodities and futures traders are very technically
oriented. Those who are short would likely cover at the 200-day MA. Those who are
waiting for a buying opportunity would likely buy around that same level.
But if gold does fall through the 200-day moving average, I think the next logical buy
point (and hence, support) would be at $800 -- which was January's low. more - Post your own answer

Dan,
I'm bothered by the lack of volatility. For the most part, the S&P is just
fading ... are the chances good that a sustained rally (versus your basic
day-and-one-halfer) can occur without the bull/bear tug-of-war we get from
heightened volatility? -
