• Q: This past week Mylan Convertible Prefered ( MYLNP)has taken a major hit and
  I want to know why? Last Tues April 28-09 the Convertible closed at $938. Three
  days later May 1st-09 the Convertible closed at $ 828???
  
  According to press reports after the market closed on May 1-09 it is reported
  the Mylan the parent of MLNP was being sued. To me it seems like the suit
  related information was some how released into the market prior to the market
  closing. If this is true, is this not considered manipulation of the stock and
  the share value of MYLNP? Can someone please explain what I am I missing here?

• A: Two different bills. From what I read today (article in the WSJ, link is on Marketwatch
  front page) the auto sector loans were passed in a spending bill that went to Bush today.
  They would be separate from the bailout (unless Bush vetos, of course).
