- Q:
So what's your take on GS and MS getting sold like crazy? I mean GS is still
making money and getting hit as if it was writing off half its assets. Doesn't
make sense, and it seems like pure panic. What kind of a floor are you other
buyers out there looking for to enter your next pieces of your GS positions,
I've done 132, 110, and I'm thinking 90 or 80? -

A: NO, they will not disappear, but these m.fr's could give 2 craps about you or me, or the
ones holding 100k shares. panic, thats a joke. the only ones panicking are the ones that
own them. if you dont think for one minute that these people are not slick enough to drive
themselves down to 5 dollars a share, and then offer you 6. then your more naive than i
am. to rush into any of these at the moment of being shot is a little fool hardy.i'd
rather buy fnm.chris more - Post your own answer

- Q:
Asked this before but I am in need of market hours opinion, what do you do with
FWLT, where half of all my losses have come from, more than half. Is this it
with going down? Will it go down after such a rise as today's? Is this the type
of stock that might be safe to sell, hoping to pick it up lower and avoiding
more losses, since it could probably go back to 30? Should I hold on and then
buy more down at 30? -

- Q:
down huge on FWLT, but the fundamentals and the analysts seem to think it'll go
to something like 64, do I sell on a pop and take my loss, or can this thing go
up and I should buy more and average out my cost? It isn't a commodity play, but
it sure is trading like one. -

of also bought one put contract a few months out. more - Post your own answer
- Q:
Hey, I'm a college student and just haven't had the time to really watch my
investments, and now I see that I am down 1400 out of the 7000 I had invested.
My stocks are V, FWLT, XTO, CELG, BAC, and I also have WM which was for a trade,
but now got clobbered and I'm wondering should I just cash out since I don't
have the time for this, sell some keep others, end my WM trade at a loss of .50
a share, or what? Help me please! -

If McCain is elected, he wants the ethanol mandate out, so watch out in Ag,
today might be a good day to sell off on recent profits. If that happens, ag is
really done. -

A: look at it this way: speculators were driving the prices of commodities higher than
fundamentals justified; that futures speculation in turn drove up the prices of ag stocks
(and other commodity stocks) way past any justification based on fundamentals.
Ethanol - forget it, it costs too much to produce and the energy you get out of it isnt
worth it.
Buying these stocks on weakness has killed traders and nobody with survival instinct
trades momentum that way. more - Post your own answer
- Q:
I see WaMu is under $4 right now, and I am tempted to pick up a load of shares,
because of how it has traded, but my worry is that since the SEC lifted the
enforcement of the short selling rule, I've watched the short percentage of the
float grow to about 33%. Is this too dangerous? -

A: buy a 3-6 month cd, if it pays more than your savings does. get 1 per month so if you need

- Q:
Do you think that in this environment there will be a sizeable pullback in the
defensive plays? How much of a percentage would we be looking for? -

A: p.s. i can say with a bit of confidence from the last 8 months that i have spoken about.
is wmt the "new" defensive all around play for the consumer, which now should be
taken seriously, they plan on opening 800 more stores throughout asia, thats nothing to
sneeze at. you know back in january i made a claim that wmt would see 60, when they were
at 50. and a well known poster here made a comment stating that anyone that could make a
comment like that was foolish, so with all of my yrs. of retail experience, i decided not
to make a counter argument with this person, and let time do its job, wmt up almost 10 pts
in less than a yr.... cramer even did a show, and brought on a picture of a lambo parked
in a wmt lot. i don't care how many millions or billions one has, it is human nature, to
shop price-period, and thats all this country has now, shopping price they have for
decades, and they will for decades more.chris more - Post your own answer
- Q:
I'm a newer investor and am not used to buying the defensive names yet, but I
think it might be a good idea to have at least one. I'm wondering how much of a
pullback you want to look for in a name like CL (Colgate) or KO (coke). CL would
probably be my best bet, right? These stocks are so much more boring than MOS
and XTO and FWLT, but that one seems like it might have more upside than the
other defensive names. Please share with me buying strategies for these types of
stocks. -
