I think we are setting up for a short term bounce here...call me crazy...it
might not come tomorrow, but next week could be a good one...the fact that the
only sectors still working...coal, oil services, and steel were simply destroyed
today ( X down 20+, NUE down over 10+, ANR down 16+, SLB down 6+) Ag took it on
the chin as well, with POT and MOS both down 10+ and MON and AGU down 5+...This
had to happen before we could get a rally going here...
I am not saying the bear market is over, but the negativity bubble needs to be
burst...jobs report could be the impetus, maybe ECB meeting, and the VIX is
almost at 26 and spiked at the end of the day!
I am not calling a bottom, but I thihk we might be able to buy soon!! -

- Q:
The GLD looks to be breaking out into this ECB meeting...It has broken
resistance at around 93 and also there was twice the open interest (20k bought,
10k open interest) in the 93 july strikes bought today...lots of bets that the
dollar is going to weaken...
What do the pickrs think? And what benefits more? Oil or Gold if the dollar
hits 1.60 euros. -

A: Don't be too quick in overlooking 'due diligence'. Gold is used primarily as jewelry
followed by coinage and bullion. AU is also used in electronics, computers, communication
equipment & connections, denistry & medical industries, aerospace, glassmaking, as well as
gold gilding & leafing. There is also a current study in substituting gold for platinum in
the catalytic converters of diesel engines. more - Post your own answer

FCX broke its 50 day moving average today and appears to have violated its
upward trendline. The stock itself appears to be trading in a range between 111
and 126...if it break that 111 level, watch out...no support below...
I like FCX long term...but the stock appears to be in some trouble... thoughts? -

A: It may just be cooling off for a little period of sideways consolidation. I'd be more
worried if it fell below $110. more - Post your own answer

A: At the risk of being Google - "implied volatility" = recent volatility, "historical
volatility" = what it says
Stocks with high implied volatility vs historical volatility will have expensive options. more - Post your own answer

Check out the charts in the ag names like POT...it ran up, and pulled back a
solid 10-15%. Looking at the chart it appears the names continues to follows
its trading trend higher...a run up...a pull back and then off to new
highs...lower lows, followed by higher highs...
What do the pickrs think of this analysis of POT's chart? -

A: Personally believe you can wait until mid next week to get in these names. I am on the
long term bull side in commodities, energy, ag, and oil. HOWEVER, I BELIEVE OIL WILL SELL
OFF HARD NEXT WEEK! I wouldn't go short but I don't believe this run-up will last past the
4th. This DOES NOT mean I think oil is done. I still see oil at 165 at least. This just
means wait for them to come back further. Just my two cents. more - Post your own answer
- Q:
I own XTO August 70's (calls) and the stock itself is up about a dollar around
68.34...The call is down though $0.30...what does this mean? The demand is not
there for these calls despite the upward movement in price? Almost 2000 of
these calls have already traded today though...but the price is down...are there
any advanced options traders out there that can explain this activity? -

A: Time and implied volitility also affect the price. I'd say volility has come off a little,
lowering the price. more - Post your own answer

A: I believe YES AND YES! I am looking for a hard rally into the banks calls and then I would
be a seller when the SKF reaches under 120. Not calling a bottom down here, just a trading
opportunity I see... look for this near the close on Thursday and just be patient. Just my
thoughts. more - Post your own answer
